How Diaphragm Compressor Works?

Cyclic Working
Diaphragm compressor is a special type of displacement compressor. Its working principle is as follows:
1. Drive Mode
Diaphragm compressors are usually driven by an electric motor, which drives the crankshaft to rotate through a belt or coupling.
2. Suction Stroke
Starting from the position where the piston is at outer dead point, when the crankshaft rotates, the piston begins to move inwards. The diaphragm gradually deforms towards the oil plate under the flow of hydraulic oil and its own elastic force, resulting in a gradual increase in gas chamber volume. Firstly, the gas remaining in the clearance begins to expand, and then the outside gas is sucked in through the suction valve. When the piston reaches the inner dead point, the diaphragm also reaches the inner limit position, and the suction process is completed.
3. Discharge Stroke
Then, the piston begins to move outwards, driving the flow of hydraulic oil. Hydraulic oil evenly acts on the diaphragm through the small holes and ring grooves on the oil plate, pushing it to deform outwards. And the gas begins to be compressed. When the pressure inside the gas chamber exceeds the gas pressure in the exhaust pipe, the discharge valve automatically opens and the gas begins to be discharged. The piston continues to move outwards until the diaphragm is tightly attached to the gas plate, ensuring that the gas is completely expelled and the discharge process is completed.
4. Cyclic Working
The reciprocating motion of the piston drives the hydraulic oil, causing the diaphragm to vibrate back and forth. Under the synergistic action of the suction and discharge valves, the diaphragm head completes a cycle of expansion, suction, compression, and discharge in each cycle.
